Christmas sales

One of my favourite times at Christmas is the sales. Having said that l can't bear trawling through the racks of clothes that sometimes resemble a junk shop just for a bargin.
I think it's very easy to get tempted into buying something just because it's reduced but actually you should be using this chance to make some clever purchases that will last you some years and add to your staple wardrobe. In the past l've bought a winter coats from Whistles that are still going strong 5 years later, trousers from Joseph that fit perfectly, boots from Prada that latest 10 years(no exaggerating) and beauty sets from Lancome etc.

So far this year l have bought…

Topshop 80's Funnel Trench Coat
was £110  now £50

This coat will go with everything and l love all the details; the funnel neck, lapels and buckles make it look very traditional.  Longer coats are in for next season so hoping this will be mid-calf on me.
I only recently(well 6 months ago) bought the Alexa Chung trench coat from M&S but you really can't have too many!

Mango Flowy dress was £89.99 now £29.99

Bought l long 70's style floaty dress from Mango last season and l love it. This will look great with suede boots for Spring or equally work well for Summer parties. The open back stops it from looking frumpy. Such a great bargin too!

Mango Ribbed Cotton dress was £19.99  now £9.99

Not a very exciting purchase but a great staple for the school run with trainers.

Mango Textured Wool blazer was £69.99  now £39.99

In my previous blog about Christmas outfits l talked about a black blazer l bought from Zara years ago. Whilst it still does the job l bought this as a back up and love the velvet trim.

Mango Heel Leather ankle boot was £79.99 now £49.99

I've been after some more suede ankle boots for ages and l live in them and they will go nicely with the long flawy dress l bought.

Mango Applique message sweatshirt was £29.99 now £19.99

Another boring purchase but l love sweatshirts and this is a bit more interesting with the jewelled detail. Will wear with a white shirt and my thousands of pleated skirts!
